Valrhona Honors Lyon’s Culinary Prestige with exclusive activation at Lyon Airport

Valrhona, the renowned French chocolate brand beloved by chefs and chocolate connoisseurs alike, has unveiled an exclusive activation at Lyon Airport, Terminal 1 in partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail. Valrhona will spotlight Lyon’s legacy as the World Capital of Gastronomy and host of the prestigious culinary competition the Bocuse d’Or with an activation that features a replica of the Bocuse d’Or trophy as a centerpiece.

The activation will celebrate both the artistry of chocolate and the pinnacle of culinary excellence that Lyon represents, as well as showcasing Valrhona’s pride to serve as an official partner of the Bocuse d’Or. Running from January 23 to February 24, the activation aligns with SIRHA 2025 (the world reference event for Food Service and hospitality), and will welcome travellers from around the world travelling to and from Lyon for this premiere culinary gathering.

The event will also showcase Valrhona’s exclusive Lyon-themed sleeves, enhancing their 50 chocolate squares giftbox. These elegant designs pay tribute to Lyon’s rich food culture and offer travelers a taste of the city’s culinary history, captured in every piece of chocolate. At the pop-up, passengers will also get the chance to customize their giftboxes with a ribbon personalization service, making the perfect gift for a loved one or family member.

From its humble beginnings as a local chocolate maker from Tain l’Hermitage in the Drôme region, through to its partnerships with top chefs around the world, Valrhona is at the forefront of gastronomic innovation, inspiring new culinary creativity. This activation highlights the brand’s dedication to the values of excellence, innovation, and artistry and its place as an integral part of Lyon’s culinary ecosystem it has held for decades and it shines a light on Valrhona’s commitment to supporting chefs, underscoring its role in shaping the future of fine dining. “We’re incredibly proud of our roots in Tain l’Hermitage, just a short distance from Lyon, a city that embodies the essence of gastronomy. Our partnerships with chefs and our role in major culinary events like the Bocuse d’Or, allow us to play an active role in shaping the future of fine dining. Through this activation, we celebrate the close ties between our chocolate and the culinary excellence of Lyon. This activation is more than a celebration of Lyon’s food culture; it’s a reflection of Valrhona’s ongoing commitment to the world of gastronomy and the culinary community that drives it forward.” said Zeyneb Larabi
