SSP debuts new lounge in Larnaca

SSP has partnered with Cyprus Airports F&B to open a brand-new lounge, ‘SKALA’ Business Lounge, at Larnaca International Airport. This adds to SSP’s lounge portfolio, which now spans 12 markets – Malaysia, Germany, Hungary, Egypt, , France, India, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Canada and Cyprus. The new lounge welcomed its first customers on 20th of June.

This innovative lounge combines modern comfort with Cypriot charm, offering a chance to relax away from the busy terminal halls before a flight.

Whether travellers are flying alone or with friends and family, the lounge’s multitude of premium services have been tailored to meet their needs. For those who want to catch up with work, a quiet area provides all the connectivity and space needed for business. A family zone is well-equipped for younger guests and includes video game consoles and other entertainment options. Those who want to sample the local cuisine will find plenty of classic Cypriot dishes on the food menu.

Technology to make a visit to the lounge as efficient and smooth as possible includes an order-at-table option which allows guests to order food and drink from the comfort of their seat. All seating is equipped with power and USB ports for last-minute charging of devices.

The lounge has seating for 400 visitors, including 80 seats outdoors giving passengers a final opportunity to enjoy the Cyprus sunshine. A staffed welcome desk and bar ensures guests receive a warm greeting to the lounge upon arrival.

Commenting on the opening, George Antoniou, Managing Director for SSP Eastern Europe and Middle East said; “The new ‘SKALA’ Business Lounge with its unique design and exceptional levels of comfort, coupled with panoramic views of the runway and Larnaca’s Salt Lake, offers those departing from Cyprus the perfect opportunity to enjoy the hospitality and cuisine for which the island is famous. We at SSP aim to make a visit to one of our bars or restaurants the best part of the journey, and we’re certain that this lounge will do much to help us achieve that purpose here in Cyprus. The lounge market offers much scope for development and we’re looking to expand our portfolio of lounges in this region and beyond.”
