SSP, a leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, celebrated the launch of its new offer at Stockholm Central Station with an exciting opening event on 9th March 2016.
Reflecting both the elegant ‘casual fine-dining’ experience of Boston Grill and the passion for sport of O’Learys, the event included a live performance from the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and a basketball display in the station hall.
Speaking at the opening, Lars Edengréen, CEO of SSP Sweden, said; “These two restaurants are a great complement to each other and offer passengers more variety. Whether they want to have a relaxing sitdown meal with good food and drink at Boston Grill, or catch up on the latest sports fixtures in the lively setting of O’Learys, both restaurants offer guests a moment of calm amid the busy station environment.”
“We are very proud to be in Central Station,” adds Christian Bellander, acting CEO of O’Learys Trademark, the franchise organisation behind the concepts. “O’Learys offers guests a home from home while Boston Grill provides fine-dining quality in a warm and friendly atmosphere.”
Kerstin Gillsbro, CEO of Jernhusen, said; “Central Station is one of Sweden’s largest meeting places where those who are visiting Stockholm or who live and work in the area can come together over great food and drink. Boston Grill and O’Learys are perfect brands for this travel hub environment and will really enhance the experience for our guests.”
Stockholm Central Station has undergone major development in recent years and is continuously being adapted to meet the needs of the 200,000 people who use the station everyday.
O’Learys first opened at the station in 2005 while the new Boston Grill unit opened in December 2015. Both concepts originated in Boston, New England.
