New shops and left luggage facilities to enhance the retail offer at airport’s Terminals 2 and 3
Excess Baggage has opened three new outlets at Heathrow. Earlier this month, a new unit offering a range of travel goods and accessories alongside courier and baggage shipping services began trading on the departure concourse of the airport’s Terminal 3.
The new opening follows the recent debut of Excess Baggage at Terminal 2 – The Queen’s Terminal. Excess Baggage Company’s new store in Terminal 2 departures retails a range of travel goods from big-name brands including Rimowa, Eagle Creek, Delsey, Victorinox and Travelpro among others. The facility also provides essential travel services such as bag wrap and bag shipping. In the arrivals area, a left luggage service utilises the state-of-the art IT systems including QR code technology, on-line pre-booking and on-line product selection.
Designed to help put the traveller at ease, the outlets incorporate innovative new features, including a 3 meter video screen to display digital promotional messages and information. They have been crafted in a stylish fresh branding that is currently being rolled out at other locations across the airport, incorporating contemporary graphics and featuring up-scale materials such as Corian.
Commenting on the new openings David Elliott, MD of Excess Baggage Company said; ‘We’ve now been operating at Heathrow for nearly a quarter of a century, and in that time, the standards expected at a world-class facility have changed radically. We in turn have invested heavily in cutting edge technology and industry-leading design to ensure that our business continues to meet passengers’ demand for the very highest quality, and we are confident that our new operations at the airport will be in keeping with the standards required at one of the finest airports in the world.’
Steve Buckley, Heathrow’s Head of Duty Free and Services said; ‘So many of our passengers are dependent on Excess Baggage to help ensure their journey goes smoothly and they are a familiar face in all our terminals. The new look stores are a breath of fresh air and we are delighted to continue our partnership with the Excess Baggage team.’
