ChangeGroup signs deal to operate foreign exchange services at St. Pancras International

ChangeGroup, a leading provider of foreign currency and financial services around the world, has secured a long-term contract to offer a range of currency exchange services at St. Pancras International. The deal will see ChangeGroup operate two currency exchange branches and 10 ATMs at the international train station.

A range of premium services including fast travel cash, international bank transfers, and buyback cover will be offered, along with concessionaire banking to support other operators within the station. These services will particularly appeal to those boarding the Eurostar to mainland Europe, which operates on the HS1 railway from St. Pancras International.

In addition, the branches’ highly trained and friendly sales consultants will be on hand to assist with any queries or issues that travellers may have, giving customers the first rate, specialist service. Over 15 members of staff have been welcomed on board to operate these branches, with ChangeGroup hoping to employ a further seven people before the end of the year.

ChangeGroup’s branches offer foreign currency exchange in more than 50 currencies, whilst multi-currency ATMs can dispense up to three major currencies. ChangeGroup served over 4.1 million customers in 2019, with plans in place to return to this level of service in 2022 as the travel and tourism industry continues in its recovery.

St. Pancras International is one of the largest train stations in the UK, with millions of people visiting the station each year for travel. Prior to the Covid-19 outbreak, the station served around 50 million people annually. As well as providing a terminus for various domestic routes, St. Pancras International houses Eurostar’s services which transport travellers to a number of destinations across France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Sacha Zackariya, CEO and Co-Founder of ChangeGroup International, said: “As the travel industry continues to rebound, we are committed to aggressively expanding in order to provide essential services and enhance the experience of as many travellers as possible. St. Pancras International is a vital travel hub, helping millions of passengers pass through London and this new deal means ChangeGroup now operates in a key gateway location in London in addition to two of the city’s four key airports.

Wendy Spinks, Commercial Director of HS1 at St. Pancras International, said: “We are excited to welcome ChangeGroup to our iconic station, where they will provide travellers with helpful currency and financial services, especially for those who need fast travel cash before heading abroad on the Eurostar.”
